Individual Psychotherapy and Relationship Counselling
For the last 30 years, I have been in private practice as an individual and relationship counsellor and psychotherapist. I see the development of self-awareness, self-management, intimate relationships and the fulfilment of our potential as a lifelong process.
My counselling services tap into what is driving troublesome situations
Difficulties we face today often have their roots in unresolved past experiences. These often cloud the lenses through which we view ourselves, others and the world. As a result, we may end up with beliefs like 'I can't speak in public', 'I can't handle conflict', 'I'll never have a fulfilling relationship or a stimulating and satisfying job' or generally speaking, 'I can't have what I want because...'. As Covey says, 'it's not the things we don't know that cause the problems, it's all the things we do know, that just ain't true', and it is the latter which robs us of fulfilment.
My objective is to help you recognise where undermining and limiting fears and destructive beliefs about yourself and others come from, and to release yourself from the self-defeating behaviours that follow, so you can make empowering choices and work towards achieving them.
Background to my counselling and psychotherapy practice
For the last 45 years I have undertaken counselling and psychotherapy to help me understand both myself and others. I have an eclectic approach, drawing on my academic studies, a vast number of experiential workshops and books on many different psychological modalities, and my own life experience.
